Low-Carb Pizza with Almond Crust

Savour the taste of a guilt-free pizza with our Low-Carb Almond Crust recipe. It's a delicious twist on a classic favourite, perfect for those seeking a healthier alternative

Ingredients:

For the Almond Crust:

  • 80g firm pizza mozzarella finely grated
  • 40g mature cheddar or grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 100 g ground almonds or milled flaxseed
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs

For the Toppings:

  • 1/2 cup sugar-free tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Your choice of pizza toppings (e.g., pepperoni, bell peppers, mushrooms, olives)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the almond flour, grated Parmesan cheese,mozzarella baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the eggs.
  4. Pour the eggs into the dry ingredients and stir until a dough forms. You can use your hands to knead the dough gently.
  5. Place the dough on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Use your hands or a rolling pin to flatten and shape the dough into a pizza crust.
  6. Bake the almond crust in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until it becomes golden brown.
  7. Remove the crust from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
  8. Spread the sugar-free tomato sauce evenly over the crust, leaving a small border for the crust.
  9. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce.
  10. Add your choice of pizza toppings.
  11. Place the pizza back in the oven and bake for an additional 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  12. Remove from the oven, slice, and enjoy your low-carb pizza with almond crust!
