Salmon Patties

Indulge in the delectable taste of our Simple Fresh Salmon Patties. Made with fresh salmon and a handful of ingredients, these patties are quick to prepare and bursting with flavour.

Ingredients:

  • 400g fresh salmon fillets, skinless and boneless
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs or panko
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup parsley
  • 1/4 cup capers
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions:

  1. Start by cutting the fresh salmon fillets into small pieces. You can use a sharp knife or a food processor for this step. Pulse until the salmon is finely chopped but not pureed.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped fresh salmon, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, parsley, capers, salt, and pepper. Mix until all the ingredients are well combined.
  3. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into patties. Adjust the size according to your preference.
  4. Refrigerate for 2 hours
  5. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  6. Carefully place the fresh salmon patties in the hot skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Fresh salmon cooks relatively quickly, so be attentive to avoid overcooking.
  7. Once cooked, remove the salmon patties from the skillet and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
  8. Serve the fresh salmon patties hot with your favourite dipping sauce, a squeeze of lemon, or on a bun as a delicious salmon burger.
